After researching BJJ and feeling like it would be something that I’d benefit from mentally and physically, I looked for local clubs and found RGA Salford, from my first trial class to now being a regular, I have always been made to feel welcome. Every class has a great atmosphere, no egos on display and everyone is willing to help you improve with tips and advice, especially from professor Mike and the coaches. I couldn’t recommend RGA Salford enough if you are looking at starting your journey into BJJ.

I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in May 2018 and I have never looked back. Never in my life have I been so addicted to something like this. Along the way I have met some amazing people at RGA Salford who quickly became very close friends. The atmosphere at the academy is like no other, from the minute I first stepped on the mat I was made to feel welcome, but more importantly I was also shown it is 100% normal to turn up knowing very little about the sport as everyone was so happy to give advice and help me through my initial lessons which has carried on still to this day. I understand it can be daunting walking into a new gym/academy but I promise you RGA Salford is like no other. Come and join the family.

Daniel Fearn

During my recovery from a mental breakdown and spine surgery, I looked to use Martial Arts as a vehicle to help my mental and physical recovery as I had practised Karate, Judo and Freestyle Fighting when younger and had always enjoyed what they gave me. As an older participant, at 50 yrs old, I decided to try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and now at 53 yrs "young" I train 3 times a week at Roger Gracie Academy Salford and have competed at local and national competitions, achieving Bronze, Silver and Gold medals not to mention a couple of 4th and 5th's.
